Sorry about the lack of posts this weekend. The servers were down where I host my site. I can't complain much because the guy is doing it for free as a favor to Marcus.
Whoo Hoo! I actually have all my bills paid. There was actually enough money for once this pay period to just send the checks for the bills I had and not worry about juggling stuff. I was really worried since my first student loan payment for that dumb CollegeAmerica-waste-of-time-biggest-ripoff-of-my-life was due this month. It's too bad that since the Avalanche are done for the year and school is out that sales will drop again. Oh, well. It was nice while it lasted.
I've been absolutely miserable the last few days. The smoke from all these fires is killing me. Sinus headaches, sneezing, itchy eyes. The wind supposedly changed today and is supposed to clear the air a bit. I sure hope so as I have some things I need to do in town today. I took some pictures in town of the smoke and ash yesterday. I'll post them when I get home this afternoon (if the ftp is working!)

A bear was found in Bennett today, about 12 miles west of where I live. You know things are bad if a poor bear wandered way out here looking for food. This is DEFINITELY NOT bear country out here. I'm seeing a lot of deer around this year, too, especially dead on the highway. It's so sad.

We're having quite the storm here today. It was raining and hailing so hard about an hour ago that I lost reception on both the tv and internet satellites. The poor dogs are totally freaked out. Man, we sure need the moisture, though. I just worry about tornados, y'know? Since the temperatures has been in the record-breaking low 90's the last few days, a sudden temperature change like today can cause total havoc.
I really hate the General Store in Byers now. They've changed their affiliation from SuperValu to some place called Thriftway. I'm beginning to think they're also poorly managed. There is hardly any of the stuff you need on the shelves, the shelf tags don't have price comparisson info on them so you can easily see what's a better deal, the employees are filling holes with other merchandise to make the shelves seem full, the meat selection is really lousy, etc. It's not worth putting up with that crap when the food is more expensive, to boot. I'm going to have to get my butt in gear and shop in town.
Well, I'm off to make dinner.

Well, I found the remote control! Yaayy! It was in with all the old Nintendo stuff. It will be nice to have the tv on in bed and be able to watch it without squinting. WhooHoo! I'm going ot give it a try in about an hour here.
I've been having the WORST allergy attacks this year. I'm sure it has to do with the super dry air we have right now. Lots of dust, too. I'm wondering if I've developed asthma. It's totally possible with the filthy condition of the stores I work in and all the flour I breathe. I was starting to get it when I was teaching and worked in a "sick building" with a really bad ventillation system. If I had money or insurance, I'd got have it checked out. Alas, I'll wait until it gets so bad I can't stand it or until I get off my ass and get a job with benefits.
This is just slightly depressing. I wish I could find what I have passion for doing that would make me that kind of dough.
I want XM Satellite Radio! Marcus is so pleased with his. I'm so tired of not finding anything to listen to. I was listening to KBPI on the way home from work and the signal faded out about 15 miles from home. What the? Do they have less broadcast power than before or is something new interfering? Who knows?
This Playstation thing is cool. Marcus picked up some racing game and a couple of pinball games. We've been messing with it all weekend.
I've decided I really want to explore web design and/or web administration. I really want to learn how the web works. Is there a school out there that really teaches this? After the burn I got from CollegeAmerica, I'm not sure I can trust myself to pick a school. While scouring the web today trying to find how other designers got their starts, most of them say "I taught myself." Well, that's nice and all, but after a hard day at work I just don't have the self-motivation to do that. Marcus can do that and I admire him for it, but not me. I'm more the "show me" type. I must ponder this more--what to do, what to do.
Well, I guess I better get a few things done before bed. I've got ALOT OF STUFF to do tomorrow. G'night.
